WristReel Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the WristReel phone app and the WristReel watch app distributed on Google Play.
Summary
WristReel does not collect personal data, and it does not share anything with anyone. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The phone app has no internet permission.
What WristReel does with your videos
- The phone app reads only the videos you choose: a video you pick in WristReel with Android's photo picker, or a video you share to WristReel ("Watch on wrist").
- It copies that video into its private storage on your phone, converts it to a small video that suits a watch, and sends it to your paired Wear OS watch over the Wear OS connection provided by Google Play services.
- WristReel includes a short sample video of its own, which you can send to check that everything works.
What is stored, and for how long
- On the phone: the copied and converted videos, a small preview image of each, and a list of the videos you sent (title, time, status). They stay in the app's private storage until you delete them in the app, and are removed automatically one day after the watch's auto-delete time (Settings); temporary copies go sooner.
- On the watch: the videos you sent, in the watch app's private storage. They are deleted after you watch them to the end (if "Delete videos after watching" is on), after the number of hours you choose in Settings, when the watch keeps more videos than your limit, or when you delete them.
- Settings: your WristReel settings, on both devices.
- Uninstalling WristReel removes everything it stored on that device.
Permissions
- Notifications: to show progress while a video is prepared and sent, and on the watch to tell you a video is ready.
- Foreground service (data sync): so that a video you sent keeps transferring to your watch while you use other apps.
- WristReel does not ask for access to your photos, files, contacts, location, microphone, camera or notifications. Videos reach it only when you pick or share them.
Third parties
Videos travel between your phone and your watch through the Wear OS data layer of Google Play services, which Android provides for paired devices. WristReel does not send your data to any server of its own or to any other company. Google Play handles the purchase of the app under Google's own privacy policy.
Children
WristReel is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the effective date.
